home About the Farm...
BLUEBERRIES Cheese retail now open from 9-5 every day of the week....! U-pick blueberry season usually runs from mid-July thru August. We are always closed on Mondays and Tues for picking, but are open Weds-Sun. It is early Aug '08 now and sadly we have not been open yet a whole lot. There has been an excess of rain and it has washed our road out a few times. We try our best to change our voice mail recording each morning by 7am to post an update on whether we will be able to be open on a given day-as well as the times. Thanks for your patience this season-we are guided by Mother Nature, and what farming is all about. In some years, such as this one, we might have an exceptional crop and not even be able to get out there and pick! We encourage folks to phone ahead in this ever-unpredictable picking season: 802-893-2963.
Blueberries are certified organic. Directions: Coming from Main St in Milton, VT, take a right onto East Rd. Make the first left onto Hardscrabble Rd (3/4 mi). Go approx 1.4 miles and turn right onto a farm road and drive up into the field all the way to the top of the tree line. Pets are not allowed. Sorry, no public restroom. More about the farm...... Willow Hill Farm is a small diversified farm. Certified organic by VOF (Vermont Organic Farmers) for NOFA-VT (Northeast Organic Farming Association) since 1992, the farm is predominantly a sheep dairy but we also raise a small amount of blueberries and currants. Internationally award-winning handmade cheese, sheep milk yogurt and grassfed lamb are sold nationwide (lamb only locally) and at farmer's market while berries are marketed as pick-your-own on the farm as well as wholesale and to local chefs. Having a wholistic view of the farm, we believe in using preventive and supportive health care-herbal medicine and homeopathy for our animals when needed.
